“Those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.” ~Edward Stanley
This statement is so, so true, but there are many ways to “exercise” that don’t even seem like exercise!!! Just nix the excuses and take/make opportunitied to move! Let’s start a list!
Dance–set up a play list of your all time favorite tunes and dance like nobody’s watching!!! This is an easy, fun way to get your heart rate up and loosen up those muscles!
Take on a house-cleaning task–but do it to music! Crank up the music and get busy. Let the music take your mind off of the task and see how much easier it is to get the job done!!!
Shopping Plus–Got to make a trip to the mall, the grocery store, Wally-World? Take a trip around the perimeter of the store or the mall before you do your shopping! Those extra steps add up!!!
Get a Pedometer–FitBit and other activity trackers are all the rage these days. They keep track of what you do and give you a clear idea of what you are not doing and how far you really have to go!!!
Go the Long Way–Park further away from your destination and walk. Or if you take the bus, get off at the stop before your usual stop and walk the rest of the way.
Wash Your Car–Wash your car by hand instead of going to the drive-through. You save some cash and get healthy benefits too!!!
- Lose the Remote–Get up and change the channel!
- Run in place during the commercials
- Have hand weights near by to use while sitting there.
Break it Up–Got an exercise program but no time to do it all? Break it up and fit it in! Do it in 10 minute intervals throughout your day. You can get that workout in!!!
Get up–Do you have a job where you sit a lot? Set a timer on your cell for hourly intervals. When you get the chime, get up and move for a few minutes. Take some deep breaths! Do something active!
When it comes to moving your body, you can get it done in so many ways! Be creative and think ourside the box! You don’t have to be limited in what or how you do it. Just take/make the time to move that body! Do what works for you and don’t forget to have fun doing it!!!
