Salt, Sugar, and Fat
They are designed to reach your bliss point and keep you eating, and eating, and eating.
Yes, you’re overweight! And yes, you’ve tried to lose weight! But you just can’t lose it and keep it off. You feel like a failure, so you just give up and eat what you want when you want. You tell yourself that it doesn’t matter anymore. But guess what, sister? It’s not your fault!!!
It’s a vicious cycle, sort of like a rat in a maze running over the same track again and again and again. You lose weight on a diet and then you gain it back again plus more. You lose the same weight again and then you gain it back again plus more. They call it yo-yo dieting, but it’s really a devious trap set for us by the food industry to keep you buying and eating all of the food they have created in the lab for all of us gullible “rats!” Through extensive research, they know what you like and what you want–salt, sugar, and fat–and they give it to you (or should I say sell it to you) in massive amounts! And guess what else??? You, my sister, have been tricked and you are now addicted!!!
It’s time to take the blinders off and realize and recognize that processed and fast foods are killing us. Lifestyle diseases–heart disease, stroke, diabetes and even cancer– are on the rise despite the efforts of various consumer groups to educate the public. Why? Because change is hard and we always tend to take the easy way even though we are oftentimes extremely aware of the risks and the consequences.
So, what can we do to break the habit? How do we finally get out of the maze? The first thing we must do is to educate ourselves and our families on how to prepare and eat nutritious foods. Then we must be intentional in implementing a plan to replace fake food with real food. Exercise must be an important part of our recovery. And support systems that encourage, inspire, and motivate us to live healthy should become an integral part of our lives. That’s where I come in as a coach!
