Transformation is a word that is being used frequently these days. It is the process of radical, dramatic, and profound change in form or appearance. It’s a metamorphosis into something altogether different from the original. It’s finding your new normal!!!
As a coach I work with all types of people, but their main goal is always a change of some sort, usually a lifestyle change. They all have their own individual goals and motivations. One of my clients made a comment that really made me think about change and transformation in a new way, a deeper way. She gave the example of a butterfly’s metamorphosis and said that once a caterpillar becomes a butterfly it can’t go back to being a caterpillar. She said that’s the kind of change she wanted. No going back!!!
If finding a new normal is what we are seeking, it is not something that can be forced. It’s a series of new routines that are settled into with repeated new behaviors over time.
